Is baby breech?

We can help!

Moxibustion is a great tool to help baby turn; treatment should start between 32 and 36 weeks of gestation.

Moxibustion treatment generally involves using a rolled cigar-like moxa stick of dried Chinese mugwort. By using the heat from it to warm specific points on the feet, it stimulates maternal hormones and prompts the lining of the uterus to gently contract and promote the baby to rotate.

Mother Roasting Care

This treatment includes a gentle moxibustion belly warming treatment to ‘seal the gate’ after giving birth to help recover faster from labour. After warming up the belly, we gently massage it and make a belly wrap to help heal and prevent a gap between the abdominal wall, relieve low back pain and provide support when holding and breastfeeding your baby.

It also includes the postpartum healing acupuncture session to help recover faster, warm and nourish the body and provide lactation support if needed.

*Recommended to book after day 4 post birth

Postpartum Acupuncture Treatment

During your postpartum Mother Roasting Treatment or follow-up acupuncture sessions, Julie can address a variety of concerns to support your recovery and reduce discomfort. Acupuncture is a gentle and effective way to promote healing, restore balance, and ease common postpartum symptoms.

  • Postpartum Incontinence: Acupuncture can help improve bladder control by stimulating the muscles and nerves in the pelvic area. The treatment is most effective when started between weeks 3 and 6 postpartum.

  • Excessive Bleeding: While some bleeding after birth is normal, excessive bleeding can strain the body. Acupuncture supports the body’s natural healing process and can help with conditions like the retention of placental material.

  • Perineal Pain: Perineal pain and swelling are common after childbirth. Acupuncture can encourage blood flow to the affected area, reduce pain, and promote healing, helping to speed up recovery.

  • Fatigue & Stress: Many women experience fatigue and stress after childbirth. Acupuncture is a safe and soothing way to restore energy and relaxation, and it can be used alongside other treatments offered at The Perinatal Wellness Centre.

  • C-Section Pain & Scarring: If you’ve had a C-section, acupuncture can help with pain management and support the healing of scarring.

Acupuncture is a safe, holistic approach that can complement your postpartum recovery and improve overall well-being. Contact us to learn how acupuncture can help you during this important time.

  • Supporting the pelvic floor muscles and preventing and relieving low back aches

  • Providing postural support for the torso and organs as they return to pre-pregnancy position

  • Lifts the womb to prevent it from resting on the bladder and reduces incontinence

  • Feeling good when holding and feeding your baby

*It can be worn 4-8 hours per day for up to 35 days.
